How to Get Money for Free (4 Steps)

You can find money for free in all kinds of places. Some of my favorites are the couch, the dryer, my own pockets and junk drawers. The reality is that the change that collects in these places rarely makes it out and almost never makes it into your bank account. Make it a point as you are on the couch watching Bonanza to stick your hand down in the cushions and see what you find.
Find it. Pay phones and vending machines have a little slot where the change drops out if you put too much cash in. This is a great place to get money for free as people often don't bother to grab their dime or nickel or whatever. Also, as you walk around, especially in malls and department stores, keep your eyes on the ground. There is change and even bills kicking around all the time, you just don't notice it. The great thing is that this does not require any extra effort.
Ask for it. In order for this to fit into the theme of the article, you will have to do this randomly as you go throughout your day. That's the most effective way anyway plus it keeps you from appearing as a transient.
Clean the car. Seriously, it needs it anyway. Make it a point to clean out the pennies from underneath the seat. Even pennies add up. Stick your hands down in all the crevices. You never know where you will find money for free.

How to Start a Martial Arts Business (8 Steps)

Start by gaining knowledge about the martial arts. Find out about about the industry (tournaments, training methods, etc..) if you want to start a martial arts business . Train in one or more of the martial arts (Karate, Taekwon-do, Jujitsu, etc..) and learn about the different fighting styles. You'll gain more credibility if you become a black belt yourself in one of the martial arts disciplines.
Look for a location for your business. Choosing a good location is essential for your success. You want to find a building that is large enough to house your practice room and your store. It should also have a parking area and be close to residential areas. People won't want to travel too far to come to classes.
Secure funding. Talk to a bank about getting the financing you need to start a martial arts school. The bank will decide whether you are credit-worthy by looking at your credit score. When requesting a loan, be sure to ask for all the money that you will need at once--this includes money for the location, equipment, advertising and salaries of your employees.
Register your business. File the paperwork to register your martial arts business with the local and federal government. A lawyer can help you with this if you are not sure that you are doing things right.
Purchase equipment needed for a martial arts business. The classroom area should have mats on the floor and mirrors on the walls. You'll also need to purchase proper training gear and clothes for your prospective students and maybe a few display weapons to sell in the store area.
Set up the inside of your training facility and store areas. Be sure to keep safety in mind.
Hire employees trained in the martial arts. Employees will make or break your business. Choose employees that have specialized training in each of the martial arts you plan to focus on. Also, consider hiring workers that enjoy working with children, since many of your students will be children.
Advertise for customers. Look for local customers through newspapers or fliers. You can also network with websites that focus on the martial arts. These sites can lead people that are interested in the martial arts to your school.

How to Design Tattoos to Make Money in Second Life

The first step to earning some money making tattoos on Second Life is to create the design itself. Now, there are template files available on second life as well as some download able ones on the internet available in the typical picture file formats. These templates will help you control the position of the tattoo when it is applied to a character. So, keep in mind the relative size and position of the tattoo you are making to the avatar of which they will be applied.
Now, if you prefer drawing and designing in real life -I personally prefer drawing the old fashioned way myself -you know, with a pen and paper, but I must admit that since I bought a wacom drawing tablet thing I've been doing a lot more digital drawing -they make awesome tablets and it feels more like real life drawing than I expected, So if any of you fellow artists out there have wondered if they are worth a &%$@ -oohh yeah! Anyway, back on the topic, if you want to use physical drawings, then you will need to first scan your pictures with a scanner (or take a digital photo if you don't have access to a scanner.)
Now take your digital picture file (or draw your tattoo with photo editing software -which if you are creating the tattoo during this process, you may find it better to use the body outline template discussed earlier and put it on a layer underneath the layer you are drawing your tattoo on.) Once you have your completed digital tattoo picture that is cropped, cleaned up and fit to match the body texture template continue to the next step.
Take your completed picture and convert it to the file format of your choosing -in this case, since it is a line drawing -I would recommend a .png file format, some prefer other formats and that's fine, but a .png file is more scaling friendly for line drawings. Also, one more thing to consider, if it is a large detailed file, you may wish to break it up into layers (some use as many as three layers to maximize the detail and look of realism relative to the avatar through which it is being worn.) Experiment and decide what works best for you, sometimes one layer is enough.
Now, take your picture files and upload them as a texture to your second life account. Find them in your inventory and apply them to an object of your choosing. Many people will package their tattoos as a transparent undershirt object and layer up with other shirts, however this can also be annoying or impossible if someone wants to wear the tattoo along with a shirt. Alternatively, you can make the tattoo a part of a direct skin texture, if you go this route though, you will want to make the tattoo include a desirable skin texture so that the user can still have good looking skin with your tattoo. I've seen it done both ways and both ways work fine. Any simple texture should do.
Now it's time to prepare the tattoo for sale, first take your tattoo object you've created and right click the object and then click 'edit' now from the open window, and finally click 'for sale' and set a price. Also, a packaging is necessary -I have an article that explains this a little more clearly, but the process is pretty simple, if you already know how to skip the next step, otherwise continue reading....
Okay, you want to create a package to sell your tattoo in, this typically comes in the form of a small poster or a box which displays your tattoo and some general information at your discretion. You can list the price, layers, how its worn ect. To do so -you will probably want to either find someone to model your tattoo or model it yourself so people will see on the box art/ picture how the tattoo is going to look. Create this picture with a screen capture and transfer the modeled tattoo picture into your preferred photo editing software. Then make it look good, add the information you want, although, i would suggest avoiding putting a price on the picture as money in second life, is just like money in real life -it fluctuates like an organism, so putting a price on the picture may result in you having to redo the picture later if the price needs to go up or down. Put your name on the picture and make a brand name for yourself while your at it, so if people appreciate your skills, they might just come back to you for more. Once you have created the box art, apply it to an object in second life as you did with your tattoo, but make it a package object that contains your tattoo when your cost is met via the for sale option.
Once you have taken your tattoo design and plugged it into an object within second life, its time to market and promote it. Take your tattoos to shopping malls and areas you think your tattoo might sell and rent out a space, and build up your store -keep track of how much you spend promoting and be careful not to spend to much in the process -with a watchful eye, you should learn the market and process pretty quickly, and in doing so make some decent money! Don't give up!!!! And, for the most part, the people on Second Life are great people and will most likely have more good pointers and help for you. Dr. Snot wishes you luck and success fellow artist!!!!

How to Make Money with Paid Focus Groups

Find local companies that run focus groups by searching for your city in the 'Focus Group Facilities' box on the GreenBook website. While GreenBook is aimed at companies that want to conduct focus groups, it's also a useful way for people who want to be in the groups to find reputable companies.
Contact the companies you located in your area by going to their websites and looking for a link that says something like 'join database.' Follow the instructions there to apply either online or by telephone.
Check Craigslist for additional listings of focus groups. First locate and click on the name of your city. Then find the 'Jobs' heading and click on 'ETC.' At the top of the page that comes up, conduct a search for the word 'focus.' You'll see listings from companies recruiting for specific focus groups. They are usually looking for people who meet specific requirements. If you are a match, follow the instructions, which usually require you to fill out an online survey form as the first step.
Call the recruiter back right away if you get a message that a focus group company has called you. The groups typically fill up fast, so don't delay.

How to Make Money in a Fleamarket Business

Determine your target market. If you already have a product in mind, visit flea markets to make sure your product and that location are a good fit for each other. If used items are popular at a particular flea market, do not attempt to sell expensive new handbags.
Do not sell products that are already being sold in abundance. Try to be unique. If you notice several young mothers shopping at the flea market, consider selling children's items if they are not being sold.
Ask questions. Find out as much as possible about particular flea markets. Ask specific questions about booth rates and flea market hours. Ask vendors how long they have been selling at that flea market. If vendors indicate they have been selling merchandise at a flea market for an extended period of time, consider renting booth space. If the same vendors continuously set up in a location, the vendors are probably making money.
Determine set up procedure. Outdoor flea markets normally require vendors set up and pack daily. Indoor flea markets sometimes allow vendors to leave items overnight. Make sure you know all details prior to committing to a booth.
Advertise your booth. Let friends and family know about your venture. If it is allowed, consider placing a small classified advertisement in the local newspaper. This will be a good idea if you are selling used items. List your booth under garage sales. This could result in weekly visits from serious yard sale shoppers.

How to Make Money with Google Adwords

Before you sign up for an account with Google Adwords, you should join a affiliate group such as Commission Junction or Pepperjam Network. You can go directly to the advertisers but I have found that you may not get paid on a timely basis.
Once you join an affiliate network, you should find yourself a niche. This should be something that you are passionate about and can promote. Being passionate about something means that you will be able to relate to the people searching for the product.
Now you should join Google Adwords. It is a quick and painless process.
Start to write your ads. You should start to write your ads to be specific to the keywords identified in your topic. Write multiple ads for each product you sell because you never know which one will be most appealing to the general public.
Monitor your ads. You need to keep a close watch on all of the ads you write in order to prevent major losses. You will lose some money at some time because not everything will work. It will take several months of solid work (an hour or so a day) to be able to sit back and watch the money flow in.

How to Calculate Interest Semi

Divide the annual interest rate by 2 to calculate the semiannual rate. For example, if the annual interest rate equals 9.2 percent, you would divide 9.2 by 2 to find the semiannual rate to be 4.6 percent.
Divide the semiannual interest rate by 100 to covert it from a percentage to a decimal. In this example, you would divide 4.6 percent by 100 to get 0.046.
Multiply the semiannual interest rate by the balance of the account. Finishing this example, if you have a certificate of deposit that pays interest semiannually and has an account balance of $800, you would multiply $800 by 0.046 to find you will earn $36.80 in interest.

How Do I Make Money Scrapping Circuit Boards?

Locate metal recyclers and refineries in your area. You can search online or contact your local department of public works to find out if they know of any circuit board buyers in your area. Create a list that includes the name, address and preferred contact method (phone, email or personal visit) for each potential buyer.
Contact each recycling company and refinery local to you. Find out how much they pay and what their requirements are. Some buyers will only accept the circuit board itself, while others will take whole computers and pay you extra for the other computer parts.
Make a list of each buyer along with the prices they pay and their requirements.
Search local ads such as Craigslist, for free computers that you can pick up and recycle for money.
Place an ad on free ad boards to let your community know that you will pick up their old computers for free. If you can afford it, you could also take out an ad in the local paper.
Check the metal prices regularly. Sites such as Precious Metals Refined and RECYCLENET post the daily metal prices in their 'Markets at a Glance' section. By learning the trends, you know when the buyers will be paying more.
Look outside of your local area if there are no refineries and recyclers nearby. Companies such as Gazelle purchase circuit boards through an online website. They even pay for the shipping and handling and will even send you boxes for shipping.
Join online or local groups that discuss circuit board recycling trends. There you will have a group of peers that can provide some tips and pointers that will help you in your circuit board scrapping business.

How to Make Big Money With Animals

Responsibly breed dogs or other pets. Breeding animals is a high-paying job, especially with pure-bred dogs. By owning two dogs of the opposite sex that are officially recognized as a pure bred (American Kennel Club), and breeding and taking care of the animals, you can sell the puppies for a high-dollar price.
Sell pet supplies and medications. Find a company that you can join to sell pet supplies and apply to be the delivery person. Often times, the pet supplies seller will visit specific homes to help the pet owners with their new products.
Start a pet entertainment business. This may be starting a pet photography business by being a photographer who advertises your special care with animals, or running a show with talented animals by taking them to birthday parties or other gathering events. The entertainment business can produce a lot of money, as long as it is done legally.
Start an obedience training business. Become well rounded in pet obedience and get an obedience license. Go to local pet stores near you and apply to be their new obedience counselor, or start a private business of your own. Pet obedience school is a pricey program that people are willing to pay for their pets.
Work at a zoo or animal specific viewing center, like an aquarium or exotic bird viewing area. These places give you the chance to work with wild animals and learn about their habits and environment. Zoo keepers and specialists make a large salary to work with these amazing and somewhat dangerous animals. You may need a zoology degree to be in this field of work.

How to Get a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree at Once

Take graduate classes and enroll in courses that are numbered 500 or above as a graduate student, rather than as an undergraduate student. This is possible even if you are still working toward your Bachelor's degree. Complete the courses and receive graduate credit that can count toward your undergraduate degree.
Find a combined program. Seek a college or university in your field that offers a combined program that allows you to accomplish both degrees at the same time. Social work is a common field where this occurs, because social workers cannot do much with only a Bachelor's degree and they must have a Master's degree to be licensed.
Complete independent study. Speak with your adviser about your interest in obtaining both the Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the same time. Work with your adviser to develop an academic plan specifically tailored to your needs. Utilize independent study courses that allow you and your adviser to determine the content of the courses. This plan allows you to achieve your degrees simultaneously, as it is customized to fit the classes you need to complete both degrees at the same time.

How to Make Money Raking Leaves

Get your equipment. This equipment can be as simple as a rake and leaf bags or as complex as a top notch leaf blower. If you are simply looking to earn some extra cash and not looking to build a leaf raking empire, then a simple strong rake from your local hardware store and the appropriate bags, given your community's rules, will do just fine.
Find your customer base. This is really pretty easy -- find the neighborhoods around your community with mature trees and elderly folks. These are the individuals that most need your assistance. You will want to let these people know about your local services by dropping off a business card to them. Given the nature of your business, you can just create and print a simple flyer from your computer. Make sure your phone number is on the flyer so that when they are ready for your leaf raking services they have your contact number close at hand.
Develop your pricing structure which should also be included on your flyer. You should decide whether you want to get paid per full bag of leaves, per hour, or per job. Generally the best approach is to do a price per bag. This will motivate you to get the job done quickly and efficiently. Also, be sure to let your customers know that you are accepting cash payment only as you do not want to be dealing with bad checks at the bank. As a rule of thumb, if you believe you can get three bags done in an hour, then charge $5 per bag so that you are earning $15 per hour for your backbreaking labor. Now get out there and make money raking leaves before they are all destroyed by the incoming winter snows.

How to Earn Multiple Income Streams of $5.00 a Day

Concentrate on your interests. There are several ways to earn money online that wont cost you a penny while others, such as niche blogging will cost very little. By writing about your interests for sites such eHow, selling affiliate products on Squidoo or creating niche blogs and monetizing them you can build up multiple income streams over time. check the resource section below for more information on niche blogging and freelance writing on sites such as eHow.
Find a mentor. Check out forums on places such as eHow and Wahm.com and after a while you will get an idea who the successful earners are. Chances are they have a blog with plenty of followers.
Educate yourself. See if your mentor offers an e-book or course available that maps out what they are doing. You can also find mentors who will offer free information on their blogs. Check the resource section for more information.
Stay in your comfort zone-sort of. I know that many will disagree but if you join something that makes you uncomfortable then you are setting yourself up for failure. For example, if you are uncomfortable at the prospect of cold calling then sales wouldn't be for you. However, once you do find something that you enjoy then you will be more willing to step out of your comfort zone.
Set attainable goals. Start with one project that is proven to earn money and stay with it until you consistently earn five dollars a day. Once you are consistently earning five dollars a day move on to another project.
Keep older projects updated. You may have several niche blogs each earning $5.00 a day but you still need to update them. While most of your attention is going to be on your current projects you want to schedule a little time each week maintaining your past projects.
Don't give up. Residual income takes time to build. For example, if you write for eHow you may start by earning a pennies a day. However, as you keep writing and build a nice library of how-to articles you may find that after a while those pennies start turning into dollars.

How to Earn The Daisy Petals Girl Scout Promise Center

Read the Girl Scout promise out loud to the Daisy troop. Daisy girls are in kindergarten and first grade. Some of them will not be able to read. Break the promise into sections in order to try to memorize the promise.
Explain what a promise is to the troop. Ask the girls to tell about a time they made a promise to someone. As they talk about the promises they have made to others, expand on each girls' story. Illustrate how they were being a good and honorable friend with each promise.

In the promise, the girls vow to serve God. Ask them to speak with a parent about how they can serve God in their lives.

How to Get Paid to Test Video Games (5 Steps)

Build your qualifications. Having a love of video games isn't going to be enough. You will need to be familiar with most gaming consoles, personal computers and handheld devices. A background in computer science or electronics is often helpful as well. Testers also need to be strong writers as well as have experience in creating data reports. Some developers will open up the opportunity for unpaid beta testers to try out their unfinished product before it launches. Though this sort of work is not nearly as rigorous as professional testing, being involved in a beta test is useful experience and can be added to your resume. Find out what major companies have games in development, and check their websites regularly to find out if a beta test is opening up.
Research your local game developers. Find out what opportunities are available to you. All developers will have a careers section on their website. Even if they don't have any testing positions open, visit these sites often so as to stay on top of any new opportunities. Some sites allow you to create a profile that will alert you to job openings that match your field of interest. Others have RSS feeds so that you can see openings appear as they are posted.
Make contacts. Go to gaming conventions and talk to industry professionals. Though it's rarely appropriate to ask strangers at conventions to give you a job, it doesn't hurt to ask for advice or tips on getting into the field. If there aren't any conventions in your area, search for relevant online forums, and ask your questions there.
Distinguish yourself from the competition. Given the popular conception of game testing as simply a way to get paid to play, the number of hopefuls trying to break into this field is huge. Show your potential employers that you understand the nature of the work and that you take it seriously. Dress professionally. Create a resume showing your qualifications. Don't use gamer slang or leetspeak when writing to new contacts for the first time. Treat it as you would any other job.
Start applying. Many game developers will take unsolicited resumes and cover letters to keep on file, though you will want to double check their individual policies regarding this. Make it clear that you are interested in a career in quality control or error reporting. Show that you have a commitment to the product rather than just a desire to game. Before applying to a new company, familiarize yourself with their games, and make mention of your experience with their products in your cover letter. Don't get discouraged if you aren't successful right away. Stay up-to-date with new opportunities. Keep trying. As with any competitive field, persistence usually pays off in the end.

How to Become a Sought

Determine what you want to review. Decide if you want to review a wide range of items that meet a specific niche, theme or target audience or if you want to stick to reviewing specific items. Knowing what you want to review will help when it comes time to design a web presence.
Decide on a target audience. Whether your goal is to obtain a column with an online publication or develop a website (or blog) of your own, you need to know who your target audience is. A target audience is a group of individuals with something in common, like moms, gamers, technology geeks, home business owners, people who meet certain income guidelines or people within a specific age group. Knowing your target audience is key to finding and obtaining contracts with companies willing to give you something free in exchange for a little coverage.
Develop a schedule. Most reviews must be written and online within a specified time frame—usually two weeks. Knowing what your schedule is can help you determine how many products you can review, write up and post online in a given week.
Find a voice. Every reviewer has his own style and that should shine through with each review. Your voice is your personality in text. If you’re more interested in knowing the flaws, you may want to spotlight the negatives in your review. If, however, you feel there’s enough negativity in the world, you may want to concentrate on positive reviews.
Design a web presence. In today’s marketplace, blogs are hot. Choosing a blog as your platform is a great way to build a name for yourself as a reviewer. The key, however, is to host your blog off a network, using your own domain name.
Write a few reviews. To show good faith and to show potential companies and public relations departments that you mean business, you must have something to show them. Start by reviewing products you already own, then purchase a couple of recently released products you’ve wanted or needed and blog about them.
Write a “get reviewed” page. This is where you tell people what you want to review, who your target audience is, how many viewers you have, how you market your blog and when you’ll have your reviews online. It’s also the place you remind potential reviewees that providing a product for review doesn’t guarantee a good review and that all products become your property.
Join affiliate programs (see Resources below). Some companies, such as Warner Brothers Online, require their reviewers to include links to purchase points. Joining an affiliate program is a great way to promote the product you’ve just reviewed and earn a little money in the process.
Market your blog. Once you have between 10 and 20 reviews on your blog, visit other blogs and leave comments. Visit forums related to your blog’s topic of choice and share your knowledge. Write up a few reviews that you choose not to showcase on your blog and distribute them to free content groups. When you have 30 to 50 reviews on your blog, begin marketing it to the public via paid advertisements and press releases.
Join a few public relations programs (see Resources below). These are companies that work with a team of bloggers to promote products. When you’re approved into their programs, they’ll email you announcements showcasing specific products. You can then choose which products you want to review. Some companies put you on automatic shipment of specific products based upon the profile you fill out.

How to Earn a Marching Band Scholarship

Perform with your school's marching band all throughout high school. At best, you may attract the eye of an eager talent scout for a major university. If not, your commitment to your high school band will show scholarship committees you're serious about being in a marching band.
Apply to schools that interest you, regardless of the opportunity to earn scholarships. Your best approach might be to decide on the college of your choice and then investigate whether any marching band scholarships are available.
Find out if any summer training camps are offered. Most undergraduate schools have some kind of band camp, designed to familiarize you with the school's particular style, cadences and movements. This is a great way to get your foot in the door and learn about any potential scholarships.
Indicate to the school your desire to earn a scholarship if one is available and complete any required forms ahead of schedule. The audition for the scholarship is often the same audition for acceptance in the band. You must be a matriculating student to audition.
Shine for the judges in your audition. Nail your musical piece, whether it is prepared in advance or provided on the spot. Many top programs emphasize spirit and enthusiasm over musical ability. 'Wow' them and you will go far.
Keep your eyes open for additional scholarships you may be able to earn after joining the band. Some schools offer small scholarships to all band members after their first year in the program and beyond.
