How to Make Money in High School (4 Steps)
Offer landscaping services. High school students of all ages can charge family, friends and neighbors --- solicit them directly, or post flyers on neighborhood bulletin boards --- for basic services such as mowing the lawn, trimming hedges and weeding gardens. Required equipment may vary depending on your specific tasks, but the basics, such as a lawn mower, may be available from your parents or for rent from a local nursery. The homeowner may even own his own lawn mower that you can simply use.
Apply for a temporary job during the summer, a season when many employers are willing to hire high school students. Options include serving in a restaurant or working in a coffee shop. To beat the traditional summer rush, CNN Money recommends applying for such jobs before May or June --- that's when many high school students are competing for the same positions. Instead, apply in the late spring and offer to immediately start working on weekends and at night.
Sell your old stuff. High school students can amass a mind-boggling quantity of accessories, gadgets and clothing, some of which other people may find valuable. Options include posting the items in an online auction, or placing an ad in the classifieds. For example, even old game cartridges from vintage video game systems can fetch a few dollars today.
Market your talents, such as your skill for writing or design. Many high school students can turn their interests and hobbies into paying freelance gigs, while simultaneously gaining experience that can look great on a resume. For example, a teen with a love for the English language can offer her editing skills to local businesses, restaurants and other institutions.

How to Make Extra Money with Massage (5 Steps)
Offer your massage services to a raffle or charity fundraiser. By donating a couple of hours of your massage time in the form of two massages that can generate funds for a good cause, you get free advertising, new potential clients and generate interest in your services.
Set up a neck and shoulders massage at local events. Summer time is a great time for town center events, street fairs and celebrations. Talk to local businesses about setting up a chair massage. These can be popular in bath and lotion shops, particularly if you use their products. You make some extra money and they get customers.
Print out business cards. VistaPrint offers 250 to 500 business cards for a low price. Offer a discount first massage on the business card and leave the cards at local businesses. This generates potential income.
Bring your own supplies for sale. Working for yourself means you make extra money, but you can also advertise other massage products, lotions and oils and make money that way.
Listen to what your client wants. If the client wants light pressure, give them light pressure. If they want to chat, chat. If they want total silence, give them total silence. In a service industry, you make more money off tips when your clients are satisfied and get what they want.

How to Make Money Quick on Weekends (6 Steps)
Ask your elderly neighbors if they need a personal shopper. You probably are going to the grocery store anyway and you could piggyback this job with an everyday event. Whether you are paid to give them a ride to the store or they hand you a list to pick up the groceries, this service can be a weekend opportunity to make a few extra bucks.
Put together your items and have a garage sale. Now it is the middle of winter, so you will need to plan accordingly, but folks love to get out on weekends and having a sale inside your garage could do really well. In the summer months, you can plan a garage sale Saturday or Sunday and get a lot of folks to stop by to purchase your used items.
To make extra cash consider becoming a product demonstrator. Setting up a little table at a local grocery store, you give away samples of food products, information and coupons. This job is one that can be short hours with great pay (right around $17 an hour.)
Weekend money making could include watching the neighbor kids. Most of the week is already booked out with daycare and other opportunities, but parents who want a night on the town would love the chance to pay someone to watch their kids on Friday or Saturday night.
A weekend caterer is another amazingly open money making job. Here, you can work on functions that only happen on the weekends. A lot of people find work at local churches and community centers when groups meet.
Teach a class to share your skills with others. If every other Saturday you taught a class and 5 students showed up with $30 each, you would have had a great weekend. There are so many things to teach as well. Computer skills, languages, instructive actions (how to take pictures, etc.) and the list goes on.

How to Earn a Marching Band Scholarship
Perform with your school's marching band all throughout high school. At best, you may attract the eye of an eager talent scout for a major university. If not, your commitment to your high school band will show scholarship committees you're serious about being in a marching band.
Apply to schools that interest you, regardless of the opportunity to earn scholarships. Your best approach might be to decide on the college of your choice and then investigate whether any marching band scholarships are available.
Find out if any summer training camps are offered. Most undergraduate schools have some kind of band camp, designed to familiarize you with the school's particular style, cadences and movements. This is a great way to get your foot in the door and learn about any potential scholarships.
Indicate to the school your desire to earn a scholarship if one is available and complete any required forms ahead of schedule. The audition for the scholarship is often the same audition for acceptance in the band. You must be a matriculating student to audition.
Shine for the judges in your audition. Nail your musical piece, whether it is prepared in advance or provided on the spot. Many top programs emphasize spirit and enthusiasm over musical ability. 'Wow' them and you will go far.
Keep your eyes open for additional scholarships you may be able to earn after joining the band. Some schools offer small scholarships to all band members after their first year in the program and beyond.
