How to Make Money on 'SimCity'

Tax the populace. Of course, if taxes are too high, Sims will move out. Make sure to set all taxes in a region at the same level.
Build a map with areas near water and with high ground areas. These areas are high in land value and help raise tax revenue. Good city services, low pollution, low traffic and trees and parks can also help raise land value.
Start a city with high amounts of industry and small amounts of residential and commercial zoning (leave a quarter of a map free). Once the industry begins raising tax money, build new residential and commercial areas and raise the industrial tax to 18%. As industry moves out, you can convert the industrial zones to commercial and residential zones. Make sure to lower the industrial tax so the industry never completely leaves the city.
Download the 'money tree' mod. The tree has negative upkeep, and you will make about four billion dollars.
Use a cheat code. Press the Ctrl and X keys to bring up the cheat window. Type 'weakness pays' and hold down the left Shift key. Press down Enter and keep holding Shift until you get the money you want.

How to Pick up Junk for Money (7 Steps)

Find out what the local requirements are for your service. If licensing is mandatory in your city, get it.
Estimate the cost of gasoline, insurance, maintenance of a vehicle, the actual cost of taking items to the dump and your time per hour. While at the dump, find out which items they will not accept. These will have to be done in an alternative manner, or may need to be disassembled in order to be disposed of.
Decide the form that your business will take. You may want to focus only on trash removal, or you may want to include debris removal. Debris removal usually involves larger items like trees, and may require a back hoe and chain saws.
Create brochures and advertise. Craigslist is one way of advertising for free, but a telephone book advertisement is still a still viable method. Most trash removing services that have started small have created brochures or fliers and passed them around neighborhoods near their home.
Familiarize yourself with antiques, useful items and the cost of metal so you can salvage some items to be resold as scrap metal or at garage sales. If you're lucky, you'll find an item that puts you on 'The Antiques Road Show' with a great story to tell.
Make a list of places to sell items that you pick up that may have some value, even as scrap metal. This is a creation of a business within a business and is perfectly legitimate. Once an agreement is made to remove the trash, and it is removed, it doesn't matter whether it goes to the dump or a metal salvage business.
Maintain professional standards. Keep noise at a minimum, graciousness at a maximum and prompt professionalism at all times. You may never find the antique to bring a million dollars, but you can most certainly provide a million dollars worth of service to the public. The additional income from resale of items is nothing more than frosting on the cake.

How to Make Money Raking Leaves

Get your equipment. This equipment can be as simple as a rake and leaf bags or as complex as a top notch leaf blower. If you are simply looking to earn some extra cash and not looking to build a leaf raking empire, then a simple strong rake from your local hardware store and the appropriate bags, given your community's rules, will do just fine.
Find your customer base. This is really pretty easy -- find the neighborhoods around your community with mature trees and elderly folks. These are the individuals that most need your assistance. You will want to let these people know about your local services by dropping off a business card to them. Given the nature of your business, you can just create and print a simple flyer from your computer. Make sure your phone number is on the flyer so that when they are ready for your leaf raking services they have your contact number close at hand.
Develop your pricing structure which should also be included on your flyer. You should decide whether you want to get paid per full bag of leaves, per hour, or per job. Generally the best approach is to do a price per bag. This will motivate you to get the job done quickly and efficiently. Also, be sure to let your customers know that you are accepting cash payment only as you do not want to be dealing with bad checks at the bank. As a rule of thumb, if you believe you can get three bags done in an hour, then charge $5 per bag so that you are earning $15 per hour for your backbreaking labor. Now get out there and make money raking leaves before they are all destroyed by the incoming winter snows.
