How to Make Extra Income Using Your Computer (7 Steps)

Write and edit articles for an online publication. Many websites hire freelance writers to write articles on particular topics. The specific writing requirements depend on the hiring company. Some articles are strictly for search engine optimization purposes, and other articles aim to provide useful information concerning a particular topic.
Sell your personal items on online auction sites. As a seller, you can list the items you want to auction off or sell, and consumers bid on the items or buy them outright for a predetermined price. This is particularly lucrative if you have a lot of antique or high-end merchandise you don't use. Auction sites such as eBay and Overstock Auctions are viable starting points.
Sell other people's products as an affiliate marketer. Affiliate marketing allows you to earn a commission every time you sell a product that someone else created. Clickbank and Affiliate Bot are online marketplaces that connect affiliate marketers with sellers of products.
Offer services as a virtual assistant. Many business owners and professionals obtain the services of a virtual assistant to help with administrative tasks. All you need to start a virtual assistance business is a computer and the Internet.
Set up a blog. You can use personal websites to discuss various topics to make money. Ways to make money with blogs include placing advertisements on your site and selling affiliate products. Google Adsense has a large online advertisement program that allows blog and website owners to sign up and earn money.
Start a graphic design business. If you have graphic design software and design skills, you can offer your services to individuals and business owners. Some services you can offer include logo design, website design, banner design and marketing products designs.
Provide online tutoring services. If you have a college degree or if you're a college student, you can offer your tutoring services online. Many foreign students pay tutors for lessons in English. You can sign up through a tutoring company or start your own business.

How to Become a Dish Network Affiliate

Find an affiliate program from those listed on the Power Satellite Affiliate website. As of 2009, you can earn between $50 and $120 every time you make a sale. Different companies offer different incentives, such as a bonus for referring other people to the program and bonuses based on your number of sales.
Sign up for a program once you pick one that you like. The page lists links to each affiliate program, which makes it easy to sign up for one. You simply need to fill out the application form, list how you plan to market the program and include any other information required.
Add the banner for the company you've signed up with to your Web site and start promoting it through online ventures. There are many affiliates currently making a large income each month just from promoting the link on their website. You might consider writing a quick review of Dish Network, or explaining the benefits of the Dish program versus regular cable.
Promote your link through offline ventures as well. The highest earners are those who not only sell the Dish Network online, but offline too. If you own your own business, consider passing out fliers with your affiliate link on them or holding a raffle for those who sign up on the program.
Monitor your progress using the tools provided by the affiliate program you joined. Most programs give you online access to your account, which shows the number of sales and referrals you've made every month and the total amount you've earned. This helps you see what your promotional work has done and where you still need work.

How to Recycle for Cash in Georgia

Determine what types of materials you wish to recycle for cash. Georgia residents can recycle iron and steel, batteries, wood, plastics, glass and fiberglass, as well as electronics.
Find a recycling center that serves your county. See 'Georgia Local Recycling Centers' in the Resources section of this article for a list of recycling centers in Georgia. Search by zip code to locate the nearest service center.
Inquire about dumpster locations, residential services and drop-off locations. Frequently, companies that provide collection vehicles for pick-up service don't provide cash for recyclables, so ask beforehand.
Prepare recyclables as directed by the recycling center. For example, you may be required to remove the caps from bottles, or break down plastics.
Request a receipt. The recycler must weigh your recyclables and issue a cash value based on this calculation. Check that the weight recorded by the recycler's scale matches the weight recorded on your receipt. Contact the company manager if you notice a discrepancy.

How to Make Money Trading Commodities (7 Steps)

Pull up a commodity price chart service on the Internet. You can use a free service like the one at TradeCharts.com, where you can click the tab on the left column marked 'Commodity Charts' and be taken to a selection of price charts for different commodities.
Fotolia.com'>
Scan the charts for commodities that are bullish, which means trending upwards. You can spot these commodities because their price action will start at the lower left hand corner of the chart and travel into the direction of the upper right hand chart. Mark any commodities that are trending in this manner.
Fotolia.com'>
Scan your list of upward trending commodities for a break in their price action. When a commodity has been trending strongly it will begin to pull back or pause its bullish movement. At this point, it will begin to consolidate into a trading range between two price levels. Mark down any commodities that are consolidating in their price action after a strong bullish move.
Fotolia.com'>
Take note of any commodity whose price action has been consolidating in a tight trading range for at least four weeks or longer. This type of price consolidation takes place before a breakout entry is signaled when price rises up through the upper price level.
Fotolia.com'>
Buy a position in a commodity as its price action rises up through its upper price level on strong price action. Strong price action is when the price bar moves up through the upper price level while closing in the top 20 percent of its price range. This confirms the entry into a breakout move.
Fotolia.com'>
Place a stop-loss order under the lower level of the commodity's trading range. A stop-loss order will sell your position if the commodity's price reverses downward and touches that price level. Stop-loss orders act as a type of insurance to take you out of the market with a small loss where you might take a larger loss by not having a stop-loss at all.
Sell your position when it reaches three times your initial risk. For example, if your initial risk were $1,000, then you will sell when you position reaches $3,000.

How to Make Extra Money Teaching Microsoft Excel

Make a business plan. If you're going to make extra money teaching Microsoft Excel, you're going to need to have guidelines. This doesn't have to be an extensive business plan. Ideally, it should cover how much you money you want to make and how much you're going to charge for your services.
Print up business cards listing your Excel qualifications. Carry these cards with you and hand them out to anyone who might possibly need your services.
Create a daily agenda. Figure out what steps need to be taken each day in order to make your business a success. Go down the list, marking off each item that is done. You can have a daily agenda that has specific times for each item on the list or you can have a basic list that gets marked off as each item is completed.
Advertise. Whether you are using the internet to attract clients or going out in public, each day needs a certain amount of time dedicated to attaining clients. Use online community forums such as Craigslist to attract new clients. Put up notices in local businesses and community colleges to attract attention.
Set up an area for tutoring. If you're going to be tutoring out of your home, make sure the area you pick doesn't have any distractions.
Go to local community centers. Many community centers have adult education courses. Speak to the person in charge and explain that you'd like to teach Microsoft Excel classes at the community center.
Go to local employment offices. Microsoft Excel is an office skill that is a prerequisite for many jobs. Having an employment office offer people the opportunity to learn a marketable skill is a win-win-win situation for you, the student and the employment agency. Go into local professional offices, including doctors and dentists. Offer instruction on using Microsoft Excel for all employees who might need to understand how to use the software.

How to Choose the Best Clickbank Product To Promote

Look for a product in your subject of interest. To promote any Clickbank product you will have to write about it on many different venues. If you choose a product that has something to do with one of your hobbies or interests, it will be easier to find different aspects of the subject to write. Choosing a subject that you have no knowledge of requires extensive research, which could result in writing articles that bore you.
Get a copy of the product for review. Write to the product owner and ask if he gives review copies. Product writers will often offer a sample or a sample portion to potential affiliates. Read through the sample product carefully. Decide if this product is one you can believe in. If the ebook seems like too much hype or is abundant with misinformation, skip it and move on to the next one on the list.
Study the landing page for this particular product. Find out where you go when you click on the links on the page. If you go to an email sign-up page instead of directly to the product sales page, this can lose you sales. Any customer that goes to the email link instead of the sales link, then buys the product from the email, doesn't garner you a commission. If readers have any option other than buying when they reach the landing page you can lose sales on this product.
Trust your instincts. If something seems too good to be true or sounds like a scam, don't go with it no matter what glowing reviews you read. While there are a lot of legitimate products on Clickbank with a lot of useful information, it's inevitable that there will be some untrustworthy people on the site. If you promote a product that gets a lot of refund requests, a significant amount of your commissions is at risk. Clickbank will deduct the funds from your account before you get the check in the mail.
Choose a product with gravity in the middle or lower. Gravity on Clickbank is a measure of the popularity of a product. Extremely high gravity products sell a lot every day, but the competition can be brutal. A lot of the diet ebooks fall under this category. On the other hand, products with low gravity don't garner as many sales each month, but there is relatively less competition. A lower gravity product may simply be new, and might grow to something much larger in time, getting you in on the ground floor.
Choose the product with the higher commission if everything else looks equal. Often this is the deciding factor between two products. If both seem about the same and you can honestly promote either one with the same amount of enthusiasm, choose the one with the higher rate of return.

How to Make a Budget With a Commission Income

List your set monthly expenses in one column. These are your necessities, including food and gas for your car. Create a second savings category where you will put money each month to cover your low months. Finally, list your luxury expenses in a third category. These expenses may be eating out, clothing and entertainment -- expenses you can manage without if you needed to for a month or two.
Take the total amount you make in a year and divide it by twelve. Your entire budget should be equal to this amount or a bit less to cover your expenses. Look at your lowest pay period for a month. You need to set aside money to cover the difference for this month and other low months.
Look at your pay periods and determine how many of the months are equal to or more than your set budget. Then determine how many are less than that amount. Add up the amount you are short for all of your lower income months. Divide that amount by your good months. You need to contribute that amount to your savings category to cover your low months before you spend on luxuries.
Compare your commission for the next month with your current budget. Assign each expense listed an amount until you run out of money. Contribute to your savings before you spend on luxuries. If you fall short, transfer money from your savings category to cover your necessities for the month and do not spend on luxuries.

How to Recycle Plastic for Cash in Texas

Call your local 211 information line to get the address of the closest recycling facility in your neighborhood that may provide recycle bins that you could have free of charge to avoid the expense of a new recycling bin. Use a freestanding large plastic bin on wheels that will hold all of your plastic recyclables for transport.
Phone the recycling company list for the ones that are paying cash for your plastic bottles and containers. Independent recycling is different from curbside service in neighborhoods, where the recycling is voluntary and not paid. The going price for each bottle is usually five cents, as of November 2010.
Look at the bottom of your plastic bottles for the recycle symbol and a number from 1 to 5 and 7 only. The most popular plastic containers are the water bottles, soda bottles, milk jugs, juice containers, yogurt containers, shampoo, liquid soap and detergent bottles. Rinse out the containers and dry them before placing them into the recycle bin.
Separate the plastic bottles by number and write down the number of bottles you have for recycling. Some recycling companies only accept certain numbers of plastic containers. The most prevalent plastic recyclable containers are labeled as: 1.) water bottles, small juice bottles; 2.) plastic juice jugs and 7.) gallon milk containers. The recycling company will tell you if you should put the plastic bottle caps on the bottles or if the caps should be in a separate container or not at all.

How to Do Data Entry From Home (6 Steps)

Ask for references from people who have data entry experience if you know friends or family members who share the common interest. You never pay to work. This should be the principle rule when searching for that perfect data entry job.
Research legitimate work-at-home data entry companies. It's always best to check for complaints with the Better Business Bureau. There will typically be a complaint listed if it is a scam. You will also want to do a search with the words 'scam' following the name of the company. This will help to bring to light any Websites with complaints or questions of legitimacy.
Gain support through work-at-home message boards. Many of these message boards list legitimate companies as 'stickies' on their Websites. Stickies are permanent posts on message boards that usually hold valuable information for new members. Members will also assist if you cannot find information on a questionable company. You can find these links in our Resources section.
Read the qualifications for the data entry position carefully. Many data entry positions ask that you have ten key skills as well as the ability to type at least 60 words per minute. Employers will also specify computer requirements like operating system must haves, software specifics and the need for high speed Internet service.
Prepare a telecommuting resume. Telecommuting resumes are similar to traditional resumes in that they list all your skills and detail your capabilities. The difference between telecommuting resumes and traditional resumes is that telecommuting resumes do not include personal information such as addresses and phone numbers. Telecommuting resumes also include information about your computer capabilities, work samples and details of your office setup. An email address that you check frequently should be listed as your contact information.
Take notes on employer responses. Some companies notify you on the best time to contact them in the future if all positions are filled. Its important that you notate these time frames and adhere to them to the letter. That's true if you want to do data entry work from home.

How to Make Money on eBay as a Full Time Seller

If you are new to eBay, you will need to open an account and learn how the site works. Visit to take the eBay Seller Audio Tour. (Visit http://pages.ebay.com/education/howtosell/index.html)You will also want to buy a few things on eBay before you try to sell anything. You will need to build your feedback score. Most customers are not comfortable buying from a seller with zero or very little feedback. Take some time to learn about the site and establish your reputation.
Next, decide what you will sell. Investigate different options for obtaining your inventory. (See my eHow article titled, 'How to Decide What to Sell on eBay.')
You do not need to work with a drop shipper or wholesaler. You can easily find items to sell at thrift stores, garage sales, flea markets, consignment stores, drug stores like CVS and Walgreens, and WalMart. See the articles on the sidebar for further information on where to find your inventory.
Start off small and slowly. Experiment with different products to find out what works best for you. Set goals for yourself regarding how many items you will list each day or week. Once you start making a profit, reinvest the profits to purchase more inventory and grow your business at a rate you are comfortable with. Ease into your eBay business, you cannot build it overnight.
Have a back-up source of income for the first few months. You may want to take on a part-time job to supplement your eBay income until your business takes off. eBay is like retail - it is cyclical. Some months will be better than others. Your eBay income and profits will fluctuate from month to month. Give yourself some time to understand the cycles of eBay and how the money flows before you depend on eBay for 100% of your income.
Don't put all your eggs in one basket. The consumer market can be unpredictable. Offering a variety of products will enable you to cross-sell to existing customers, as well as attract new customers. For example, if your main product line is clothing, you may also want to offer shoes and accessories. If your main product line is baby items, offer maternity items, prenatal vitamins, early childhood learning products, or child safety products.
Be prepared to evolve with eBay and the changing consumer market. If you don't have success at first, don't give up. Most eBay sellers fail because they give up too quickly. Ask for help. Try different products. Do research on the internet. There is no one magic product that sells for big profit all the time. (If that was the case, everyone selling on eBay would be rich.) Don't be afraid to experiment and try new things. You may have to adjust your key words, change your photos, revise your item description, or fine-tune your pricing to find a formula that works. eBay is about evolving with the market, understanding what customers want, selling the right products at the right time, and experimenting.
Expect to work at your eBay business just like you would at a traditional job, maybe even more. Many people think that eBay is just sitting at a computer watching the profits roll in. Nothing could be further from the truth. Many sellers fail because they expect success (and big money) too quickly. It takes time to build your eBay business. Be patient, work hard, put in the hours, and the money will come.
Find support groups and talk with other sellers. If you are having a problem with a customer or an issue with eBay, chances are that another seller has 'been there, done that' and can offer advice or a solution. Don't be afraid to ask for help - plenty of experienced sellers are out there and are more than happy to help a newcomer. Look for eBay groups on Facebook, Yahoo Groups, Google Groups, and the WAHM.com message board.
Continue to educate yourself. Read blogs about eBay selling, check the eBay announcement board, listen to podcasts, look on YouTube for videos, and network with other sellers. eBay changes every day. Keep your eyes and ears open for news about the eBay marketplace that may affect your business.

How to Earn Respect as a Substitute Teacher

Dress professionally, even for a relaxed school. Children make quick first impressions, and casual clothing may signal a casual attitude to the students. Use professional clothes to set a tone of authority when you walk into the classroom.
Write a list of rules on paper. Keep the list brief, as the students need to remember all of the rules you set that day. Set at least three to show you are serious and to maintain control over the classroom. Bring the paper with you to the class as a reminder.
Arrive at least 30 minutes early. Read the school and classroom rules. Not knowing and not following the same rules the children do loses you respect. Use the regular teacher's planner to determine where the children are in their studies.
Introduce yourself clearly. Maintain eye contact and use a firm tone of voice to convey authority to the students. Go over the rules you wrote to establish order and expectations. Write them on the whiteboard or put them in a visible place.
Ask the students if you are unsure about a classroom procedure or matter. Students might be more likely to respect a substitute teacher who asks for assistance rather than trying to guess.
Keep a positive attitude. Do not yell at students or make negative remarks about the school or regular teacher, even if you have reason to do so.

How to Sell a Jingle (5 Steps)

Start small. Instead of going for the big national chains and corporations in the beginning, start with small local markets. Contact your local tire shop, dry cleaners, artists and cafes. These smaller markets need to advertise, but they need someone in their price range. Work your way up from there.
Be tenacious. Every business has their own way of doing things, so if you get a no, don't stop there. Continue going down a list of local shops in your area until you sell a jingle. Success takes time.
Get modernized. Jingles from the days of yore aren't working anymore. Use modern music and lyrics that will appeal to a larger audience. Most radio stations run ads that are geared toward their demographic, so write for the time.
Know the business. Familiarize yourself with the shops that you want to work for. Knowing a bit about what they do, and their goals as a business will help you write and sell a jingle to them. Ask questions of customers, or as a consumer, study their business from the outside, then ask the owners for information regarding their advertising goals.
Steel yourself for competition. As you move out of smaller markets, build a portfolio to get a job with a marketing or advertising agency. The large national corporations work with big businesses, and these businesses will want to hire a seasoned professional.

How to Make Money With Domain Trading (7 Steps)

Visit the ICANN website and become familiar with who they are. The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers is the governing body for domain policy and registration. A small ICANN fee is included in every domain purchase.
Research domain auction sites and study which domain names are for sale. Focus on the asking price of each. Ascertain which names have the highest bids, which is an indicator of their value. Pay attention to the names that aren't receiving bids; such low interest could indicate market saturation.
Make a list of the market categories that you would like to penetrate: finance, health or sporting goods. Your name should contain words that are commonly searched for within the English language; this contributes to the domain's inherent value. Popular terms will have a stronger appeal to potential buyers.
Search for available names at a domain registrar. All domain sellers have access to the same inventory so use the one that gives you the cheapest rate. Look for names with a .com extension. Have your credit card ready to facilitate payment if your chosen name is available.
Decide if you would like to purchase any additional extensions for the .com name that you acquired. Extensions include .net, .org and .info. If you own all the extensions, it prevents pirating of your name by other traders and secures your market domination for that phrase.
Register with a domain auction site and pick one that gets a lot of traffic. List your domains for sale. Realize that some of your names will be more valuable than others. Monitor interest and adjust your asking price accordingly.
Look for a trend across various markets and then capitalize on it. If there's a new movie coming out or a spike in dirt bike sales, find a way to incorporate that trend into a catchy domain name. List it immediately, and continue to follow these steps to increase your domain portfolio over time.
