How to Get Higher Rates of Return on Annuities


Compare the total rate of return you will earn over the entire course of the annuity and translate this into a dollar amount. You will have to factor in the amount of fees you will pay, the cost of your benefits if any and any other management fees that variable annuities may charge. This should always be the basis for comparison.
Disregard bonus rate annuities even though they offer a higher rate of return the first year. The rate of return after this bonus period could be very low, resulting in a lower overall gain.
Find higher rate fixed annuities by conducting a long search. Call several no-load annuity companies that offer direct sales of annuity contracts. They typically return higher rates of return, and since they do not offer benefits, you will earn more simply because you aren't paying more for a benefit.
Consider variable annuities, index annuities and CD or money market type annuities. These products are designed to compete with investments that earn more interest, and often return higher rates of return. However, variable annuities (which pay interest based on sub accounts that are tied to investments like stocks) could lose money.
Invest in fixed annuities that have longer guarantee periods of high interest when interest rates are high. This will lock in higher rates of return since fixed annuities offer higher interest based when interest rates are high. You will lock in the higher rates for a longer period of time when you get a higher fixed rate for a longer period of time.
Keep your annuities for a longer period of time and always renew at the highest possible rate. Some annuities may require you to renew your contract to continue getting a high interest rate. So, always renew at the highest rate, and be sure the annuity you buy allows you to renew at a higher rate. Check the renewal periods and rates for the past history of the annuity.

Research legitimate work-at-home data entry companies. It's always best to check for complaints with the Better Business Bureau. There will typically be a complaint listed if it is a scam. Prepare a telecommuting resume. Telecommuting resumes are similar to traditional resumes in that they list all your skills and detail your capabilities. The difference between telecommuting resumes and traditional resumes is that telecommuting resumes do not include personal information such as addresses and phone numbers. Telecommuting resumes also include information about your computer capabilities, work samples and details of your office setup. An email address that you check frequently should be listed as your contact information.
Take notes on employer responses. Some companies notify you on the best time to contact them in the future if all positions are filled. Its important that you notate these time frames and adhere to them to the letter. That's true if you want to do data entry work from home.

How to Earn Ranks in the Military (4 Steps)


Ask your commanding officer what the 'zone' requirements are. These have to do with the amount of time in the military required for promotion. One of the ways to earn rank is to be recommended by your supervisor to a promotion board. Your chances of getting a recommendation are increased by doing well on your appointed tasks, volunteering for special duties, getting good test scores and having a solid and consistent physical record. Promotion boards take into consideration how well you complete your assignments. Perform exceptionally and you will have a better chance of earning a higher rank when the time comes.
Put your time in. Many of the promotions to a higher rank are based on the time you have spent in the military. Eighteen months is the minimum time required by law before you can gain your first promotion if you hold the rank of ensign or second lieutenant. An officer who holds the rank of first lieutenant has to have served for at least two years. If you hold the position of captain, major or lieutenant colonel in the Army, Marines or Air Force you will need to have served in that position for at least three years. Also the grade of lieutenant, lieutenant commander or commander in the Navy requires at least three years in that grade. If you hold the grade of colonel or brigadier general or captain or rear admiral in the Navy, you must have served at least one year at this rank before you're eligible for promotion.
Get a college degree. You will automatically earn a higher rank than an enlisted recruit and will enter as an officer. You can apply for the ROTC program and have your education paid for by agreeing to enlist in the military when you graduate. If you plan to reach the level of warrant officer you will need special training, such as that offered at Officer Candidate School (OCS) or Officer Training School (OTS). Those accepted into these programs need to have an excellent academic record, recommendations from teachers and above average college aptitude test scores, and must pass a physical exam.
Choose the right branch. Although all the branches of the military will offer accelerated advancement if you have a college degree, the different branches offer advancement for different criteria. For example, the Army offers accelerated promotion to enlistees with certain skills or job training that were acquired as a civilian. The Navy offers accelerated rank for participation in certain enlistment programs. The Air Force is the only branch that offers accelerated promotion to enlistees of six years. You are also eligible for promotion if you were a boy or girl scout and refer friends to join.
