How to Recycle for Cash in Georgia

Determine what types of materials you wish to recycle for cash. Georgia residents can recycle iron and steel, batteries, wood, plastics, glass and fiberglass, as well as electronics.
Find a recycling center that serves your county. See 'Georgia Local Recycling Centers' in the Resources section of this article for a list of recycling centers in Georgia. Search by zip code to locate the nearest service center.
Inquire about dumpster locations, residential services and drop-off locations. Frequently, companies that provide collection vehicles for pick-up service don't provide cash for recyclables, so ask beforehand.
Prepare recyclables as directed by the recycling center. For example, you may be required to remove the caps from bottles, or break down plastics.
Request a receipt. The recycler must weigh your recyclables and issue a cash value based on this calculation. Check that the weight recorded by the recycler's scale matches the weight recorded on your receipt. Contact the company manager if you notice a discrepancy.

How to Make Money Online With an eCommerce Website

Figure out your niche. Most successful e-commerce websites have carved out their own niches in their markets. Choose a niche that you think will be profitable. Unless you are creating the product yourself, you won't need to stock inventory. However, some knowledge of the products will come in handy when customer-service emails start rolling into your inbox.
Choose inventory. For example, if your niche is modern home decor, your inventory will include modern paintings, rugs, vases, mirrors and throw pillows. If you don't have a large startup budget, check an affordable wholesale trading website such as Alibaba (see the Resources section). Alibaba allows distributors, manufacturers and buyers to make wholesale transactions over the Internet.
Register your domain name. According to the Agricultural Marketing Research Center, you get a domain name through one of the authorized domain name registrars. All registrars can sell you the name you want, but they may charge different rates. Popular and reputable domain name registrars are GoDaddy and Host Gator; both charge between $10 and $15 to register a domain name. Ideally, your domain name will be the name of your business. But sometimes your business name isn't available because another online business has registered the name. In that case, for a simple fix you can add another word to the domain name. For example, if your business name is Shana Pottery and the domain name 'ShanaPottery.com' is already taken, you can opt for 'ShanaPotteryOnline.com' or 'ShanaPotteryShop.com.'
Create your website. Before you go into business, you need a design for your e-commerce website. Unless you have a background in web designing, you will do best to hire a professional web designer. A designer will work closely with you to create a professional website that meets your aesthetic standards, and she will include all the site's functions, including your virtual shopping cart. You will need to supply your product photographs so the designer can put them online. Many professional designers also create product descriptions for an additional fee.
Market your online store. Now that your e-commerce store is open for business, you need to start attracting customers. The principle for online marketing is the same as for offline: Place your business in front of your customers every chance you get. Consider placing ads on relevant blogs, running ad campaigns through Google AdWords, issuing press releases and sending out cold emails. And hand out your business card to everyone you meet so they can go to your store and spread the word.

How to Raise Money in a Car Wash

Determine the amount of money the organization needs. The most successful car washes ask for a specific donation amount, such as $5. Simply asking for a donation will may have you wasting precious time on insincere people. Divide the amount of the goal needed by $5 (or whatever donation amount you decide on). The number you get is your goal amount of car washes for the day.
Divide the goal amount of car washes for the day by the number of hours you will be set up to provide the car washes. This lets your team know the number of washes they should aim to finish and helps everyone stay on track without wasting time.
Pick a location that is easy for clients to see the team working and also easy to get on and off the road. If the location is in a busy spot, potential clients may not take the time to try and get out of traffic. You also need a location with free access to a water supply. Some local businesses may allow a team to perform car washes in their parking lots and use their resources in exchange for advertisement.
Make brightly colored signs that easy to read from a very long distance. Do not try to put too much information on each sign. Your clients need to know how much they are expected to donate and where their money is going. Usually, two large signs which read “Car Wash $5” and two large signs with the name of your organization are enough. Use brightly colored poster board with thick black letters painted on to make them eye catching but also easy to read.
Ask local businesses to donate cleaning supplies, buckets and sponges to the car wash. In exchange, offer to make large signs with “Supplies Donated By ___” to display at the car wash.
Designate a few people from the team to stand at the road with the signs. Big smiles and friendly personalities are the most important thing. Clients are less likely to pull in if the sign-holders appear obnoxious or bored.
Assign different team members a different task so each car gets washed quickly, efficiently, but also with a good quality. Assign four team members to the tires with brushes and tire cleaner as four other team members take care of the windshield and windows. Then have everyone scrub a section of the car.
Be aware that the biggest complaint of charity car washes is streaking on the car or windshield. Be sure to thoroughly rinse each car and use towels to hand dry the windshields and mirrors. The most efficient way to quickly rinse the car is to pass the hose from person to person around the car.
Remind your team to smile and have fun without being obnoxious or wasting the client’s time. You want them to feel good about their decision to give their money to you instead of the car wash.
Have small flyers or cards ready with information about your organization and what the money is going to benefit. If your team is raising money for a mission trip, include facts about the mission and why you want to go. If your team is raising money for a separate charity, include information about the charity and why your team chose it. As you take the donation from the client, give them each this card. They can review the information later. This makes your client feel your organization is legitimate and they are more likely to encourage friends, family and co-workers to visit the car wash as well.

How to Buy Stocks With Little Money (5 Steps)

Start with high-value stocks. Stocks priced at $15 or more are typically from companies that have strong financial portfolios, according to William O'Neil, author of 'How to Make Money in the Stock Market.' An investor with a small bank account should simply purchase fewer shares of a well-researched, financially sound company. Get company financial reports and use online stock-research sites such as Yahoo! Finance and MSN Money (see Resources) to research investments.
Do your homework. Unlike a roll of the dice in Vegas, sound investing takes skill. It's far from the luck of the draw. O'Neil says that 80 percent of investors lose money in the stock market because they use gossip or tips from 'professionals' to buy stock. The other 20 percent, who invest for a living, base their picks on sound research they conduct daily to seek out investments. Make time to research regularly.
Have an exit strategy. If the stock you pick starts going in a negative direction, bail out. Sound investors don't make money on each pick. Instead, when they pick wrong, they cut their losses. O'Neil suggests cutting your losses at 7, 8 or 9 percent, no matter what.
Learn the '3-to-1' strategy. First, invest in a stock until it gains a certain percent, 15, 20 or 25 percent. When it gains the desired percent, take the profits. Secondly, when a chosen stock goes in an opposite direction, cut losses at 7, 8 or 9 percent. Practice this strategy until you average three wins and one loss. This way, you average a profit on your investments.
Study the direction of the stock market. O'Neil says three out of four stocks follow the market's direction. Study stock market indexes such as the Nasdaq or S&P 500, and track whether the market is losing or gaining. Don't be afraid to sit on the sidelines and wait out a market slump. Research and choose stocks to invest in once the market heads upward.

How to Make Money Growing Mushrooms (9 Steps)

Learn about mushrooms and how to grow them. People who grow mushrooms commercially generally do so in a controlled indoor environment. Make sure that there will be a space that is large enough to cultivate a commercial quantity of mushrooms.
Decide which mushrooms to grow. Shitake and oyster mushrooms are popular mushrooms that grow well in a controlled environment. They sell well, are not expensive and are a good commercial mushroom to cultivate.
Secure a supplier who will provide the basic starter equipment for beginning to grow mushrooms (see Resources).
Review the suggestions made by the Small Business Administration for starting a business (see Resources).
Consider taking a business course at a local community college or through an online course. If the course is given online, check with the Better Business Bureau to make sure that the institution or company offering the course is reputable (see Resources).
Investigate the laws and regulations for growing produce for commercial sales through the local department of health. Each state has its own laws. These may be found on the state's department of health website. Make sure to obtain all necessary permits.
Secure financing for the business.
Register the business with the state and federal tax authorities.
Decide who to sell the mushroom to. Restaurants? Supermarkets? Health food stores? Market the mushrooms to the appropriate retailers. A website is a powerful marketing tool, but a personal visit to retailers should also be part of your marketing plan.

How to Become a Rebate Processor

Know work-at-home scams exist. Even if the website seems professional, the people in the pictures look honest, and the testimonials sound legitimate, it still could be a scam. If you need to initially pay money upfront to receive a starter packet or equipment, or even pay for a processing fee, this should be a sign the company could be a scam and you need to do your research. Visit the Better Business Bureau and your state's Attorney General's office. You can also check with your local consumer protection agency (See Resources below). Do this before you pay out any money for a job opportunity.
Know about rebate processing scams specifically. Rebate processing jobs that advertise you can earn hundreds of dollars a day are not data processing jobs like one might think. Rather, you will actually learn how to do affiliate marketing, which means you are selling someone else's product for a commission. With 'rebate processing' jobs in particular, you pay a fee for a kit or information of some sort where you learn how to successfully market various products that have a rebate offer. Someone buys a product from one of your advertisements and you earn money. In reality, not only do you pay for the initial information on how to do this, you have to pay for your own advertising. In the end, you could make money, but you also could lose a lot, too.
Know about real rebate processing jobs. There are actually jobs out there where you can process rebates, some from home. This is the real deal. You check UPCs to see if they match up and do some data entry. These jobs do not pay hundreds of dollars, but rather something like $0.15 per rebate or an hourly salary at or just above minimum wage, in essence, a pay rate in line with typical data processing work.
Find real rebate processing jobs. There are several job databases that you can search like CareerBuilder.com, but also, check out some websites dedicated to sorting out real jobs from scams like Scams.com where people post their findings and experience on different companies. In addition, apply for large rebate processing companies who are contracted by large retail companies. Two such rebate processing companies are Continental Promotions Group (CPG), which processes rebates for companies like Lowe's, and Parago, which processes rebates for companies like Staples.

How to Earn Back Good Credit

Pay off any debts you have now. Call up each one you have a debt with, whether they are collection agencies or the business you owe the money to. Get all of your bills together and figure out how much you can pay each one per month. Call each one and tell them how much you can pay each month. They will set you up with a payment plan and send you a bill each month for your new monthly payment. Pay the bills as soon as they come in every month.
Obtain a credit card for people with bad credit (see Resources below). You will have to pay an annual fee and a fee to get the credit card started. This may seem frivolous at first, but this may be the only way you can get a credit card. Once you have paid the annual fee and any other fees associated with this new credit card, you can start charging, but do so carefully--charge a small amount (an amount you know you can pay off each month). When the bill comes in, pay your entire balance off, not just the minimum payments.
Pay more money on your debts when you can. The only way to keep the bills out of collections is to call the billing department and set up a payment plan, and follow through by paying the agreed-upon payment every month when the bill comes in. If, for any reason, you are not able to make the payment, call as soon as possible to sort something out.
Sign up with an agency that will track your credit for you. Privacy Matters can track your credit report for you for a low monthly fee. It will alert you every time something changes with your credit report. This will ensure that you are aware of everything going on with your credit (see Resources below)
Limit how much you allow people to access your credit report. Anytime you apply for any type of credit (loans, credit cards, gas cards, department store cards) you are allowing them to access your credit report. This will show up on your credit report, and the more people you have accessing your credit report, the worse it looks.
