If you have a friend with a FarmVille (FV) account, you can click 'Play FarmVille Now!' on any of their FV related posts. Once a crop is ready to harvest, you simply click on it and your farmer will harvest it. Be sure to visit your friends' farms each day! You will be helping them and also helping yourself. When you fertilize their crops, you may find extra fuel and you receive coins and XP. If they have a chicken coop, feed their chickens and you will receive coins and XP, plus you may find a bonus egg to hatch for a prize. In addition, it will encourage them to return the favor and visit your farm. Fertilized crops earn extra XP and well-fed chickens earn extra coins!
One of the most fun aspects of FV is giving and receiving gifts! In order to do this, you must first have neighbors. Invite all your friends because each neighbor you have provides more opportunities for coins and XP. Once you have neighbors, click on 'Free Gifts' in the tabs at the top of the game. Choose a gift (again, which gifts you are able to send depends on the level of the game you are currently at) and click 'Proceed to send.' Choose which friend(s) you want to send the gift to and you're all set.
** One thing that many people overlook is that you must accept your friends' gift requests before you can use them. When you have a gift request, you will see 'Farmville Gift Request' in the top, right-hand corner of your Facebook homepage (NOT your FarmVille page). Click on this and it'll show you which gifts you have been given. Click to accept these gifts and then you will see them in the gift section of your FV toolbar.
New features are being added to Farmville all the time. Click on 'Specials' in the market section to see what the new deal of the day is. You can also recruit friends to help you build buildings such as a horse stable and larger chicken coops. You can now join or start a co-op, where you have a limited amount of time to seed and harvest a particular crop to earn extra XP and coins.
Lastly, if you're given the reward of a Farmhand or Arborist, consider yourself lucky and take advantage of their services! The Farmhand will harvest all your livestock in an instant and the Arborist will harvest all your trees instantly. Use their services wisely by waiting until all (or most) of your livestock or trees are ready to be harvested and then voila! You are done farming for the day.
