How to Make a Money Box

Place the plastic lid on your container. Use a utility knife to cut out a slit in the middle of the plastic lid. The slit should be rectangular in shape, and be about 1/2 inch wide.
Wrap your container with wrapping paper. Make sure the wrapping paper represents the purpose for the money box. If you are celebrating a new baby, use baby shower wrapping paper. If you are celebrating a graduation, use wrapping paper with graduation caps on it. If you just want to save your money to buy a particular item, you can use a plain-colored wrapping paper.
Use some sticky letters made for scrapbooks or mailboxes to spell out the purpose of the money box. For example, spell out 'Congratulations Adam and Eve' if the money box is for a wedding. If you are using the money box for your own savings, then you may spell out something like 'My Trip to Mexico.'
Decorate the rest of the money box with craft supplies. Your decorations should keep with the theme or the colors of the event for which you are using the money box. Make some dollar signs out of pipe cleaners and glue them to the container if you are saving money for yourself. You can also make a tiny diploma and glue it to the money box to symbolize graduating.
Wait for your glue to dry, and then display your money box.
